The testimonials listed on this page are genuine. The gentlemen that have provided their opinions have no business affiliation with Adaptive Trading Systems other than being customers. Note that our trading software is reasonably flexible and, as a result, the trading systems that are built by customers will vary in performance from customer to customer.
"As background, I have been using profit 97 and NGO, and have followed up to the profit 7 and profit 8, and I also use dakota and patterns. additionally I also own neuroshell and have used "yale/rapidminer" as well as "weka" and matlab and R for trading and data mining and predicting markets for the purposes of making money. So, I think I can say from real world experience about the strengths and weakness of a system, and the the signals they generate. I also have been trading us bonds, FX(USDJPY and EURUSD, as well as the old deutsche mark and swissie and their crosses), as well as trading of "spooze" or emini futures. I also have been a customer of James Slack Smith when he offered the "profit 7 dataminer tool" and followed him to the dakota tools and profit 8 addons. I have the ATS original version from 2007 and 2008 and then the 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3 as well as the current 8.0 and 8.1 as well as all the addons like the ATS Signal Breadth Processor.
You might wonder why, and how do you use all these tools? Well, I believe the power of a "system" lies in its diversity and the ability to collect diverse signals from different systems and create one final SIGNAL representing the trade. For me this represents the reality of the markets of many securities, many people, moving correlations, and random events breaking out all the time, you cant account for all of these events nor can you account for how these events affect the different trading methods practiced in the markets.
To thrive and survive and take money from these markets you need tools to behave like the individual agents in the market as well as model the interaction of the high and low frequency changes which are always interacting. James Slack Smith has made one such collection of tools in the ATS system, I am referring to the whole spectrum of tools. I like to constantly remind James, that his original pre 7.0 system still works for me, and using his EST tools and ATS Signal Breadth Processor, all the diverse inputs are integrated into a single trading system signal.
If you are serious about trading automation, and want to see what the market is thinking, I strongly recommend paying up for entry into the ATS universe. I have had over 5 years of expermenting with James's systems, and I am very happy with using the system in real time live. I highly recommend this over anything else available out there, and I will point out that time series analysis tools have already been integrated in by James as well as many in the form of a scriptbot waiting for the user explore change and otherwise experiment with. You will find that there is not enough time to run experiments and when you have over 400 scripts then you have a challenge of how to run them before the next market open. I LOVE these tools and HIGHLY recommend it to you if you are a serious trader or looking to be one."

"I like your independent approach to trading methods. Your WaveOsc2 indicator e.g. makes excellent contributions to some of my neural network models that I've built for trading stocks EoD."

"I am in the process of running your TrendOscillator and WaveOscillator script bots. I have just made a handfull of runs, but it is the best I have ever seen so far in Dakota. Very interesting market situation also. Many of the systems seem to produce a system with rising equity during the last few months!"

"For the past 15 years I have studied technical analysis and have, with mixed success, developed my own trading systems. I gravitated early on to BioComp's 'Dakota' in April 2006 because of its fresh approach to adaptive systems, but found the development of swarms that I felt comfortable trading to be very challenging. So by fall 2006/spring 2007 I was looking at systems developed by others, and I was attracted to James' new system because he'd developed an elegant approach for adaptive voting of multiple swarms from within Dakota - an approach with swarms I'd already had some success implementing outside Dakota. For the financial index instruments I monitor/trade, his initial systems bested anything I'd developed on my own and all his subsequent revisions have provided incremental improvements every 6-8 months. Although the statistical & other modeling theories he uses for new swarms and the multi-swarm voting systems have progressed far beyond my theoretical understanding, his results and initiative to further improve results are sufficient proof for me. As of this writing I use his latest system as THE major input to my own trading system, which applies dynamic filtering to further enhance return and reduce drawdown for the particular S&P & Nasdaq instruments I follow.
I enthusiastically recommend James' products for Dakota users looking to improve their results!"

"Trading is easy, but trading profitably is not. Harder still is realising consistent trading profitabilty over time, throughout a range of varying market conditions. Biocomp Systems make some great tools for the development of trading systems, and I've been using both Profit and Dakota for several years now to good effect. Biocomp's Dakota is really in a league of its own when it comes to the development of trading systems that adapt to maintain profitability through time. Yet getting really good consistent results from Dakota requires a considerable investment in time. Enter the add-ons available from Adaptive Trading Systems. These various add-ons embody expertise that would take a very smart person many hundreds of hours to acquire. The Ensemble Trading bots incorprate a further level of adaptation, supporting adaptation of ensembles of swarms of different bots that can provide really smooth rising equity curves, and the Wave and Trend Oscillators significantly outperform publicly available free bots. In this business buying a head start makes great sense, and just as Dakota provides an 'unfair' advantage, so too the add-ons from Adaptive Trading Systems leverage Dakota to really provide a significant edge. All of my traded Dakota systems incorprate add-ons from Adaptive Trading Systems."

"I have been trading BioComp's financial software products (Profit and Dakota), for well over a year. During that time I have had the good fortune to use a number of add-on products for those systems, all of which were developed by James Slack-Smith of AdaptiveTradingSystems.com. I have found his WaveOscillator and TrendOscillator add-ins for Dakota and Profit to provide substantial improvements over the publicly available bots and indicators for those products. In addition, he has developed a number of other specialized Dakota bots that, when matched with the right trading vehicle, can provide outstanding results. But for me, probably the most important contribution from James has been his line of EST bots, which enable a Dakota user to combine multiple swarms in a seamless and relatively easy manner. This has provided me with a whole new level of trading performance, much better than what I was doing with just Dakota alone. (and Dakota is a very good product by itself!) In fact, I no longer trade any single Dakota swarms, and always use an EST bot to combine several swarms. This results in simultaneously giving me higher profits and smaller drawdowns, qualities that do not often go hand-in-hand. I have no hesitation in recommending AdapativeTradingSystems.com and their products. Their customer support has been exceptional, and I am a pleased customer."
NOTE: Hypothetical or simulated performance results have inherent limitations. Unlike an actual performance record, simulated results do not represent actual trading. Also, since the trades have not actually been executed, the results may have under- or over-compensated for the impact, if any, of certain market factors, such as lack of liquidity. Simulated trading programs in general are also subject to the fact that they are designed with the benefit of hindsight. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown. Past performance of our trading systems, trading software and trading signals, whether actual or indicated by simulated historical tests of trading strategies, is not indicative of future results.
